Is it makes any change in changing Heap Size from 256 to 512M in system?

Yes, you can change it to what ever the value you want ( but that memory should be available in yout system) and that too admins can restrict the size also for each Process ID, so you can up to that max..

keep changing heap is not good, check your process if it is keep requiring the heap, try to implement or design your process in smart way.

For example my machine has 2GB ram and runnung BW processes and other services. How i will know available memory spare to increase heap size un unix we have command but what abot window?
